Edgar Whitley is an associate professor in the Department of Management at the London School of Economics. His research interests involve digital identity and governance and he is an advisory board member for the Ada Lovelace Institute’s Ryder review of the governance of biometric data. He also contributed to the Ada Lovelace Institute work on technological responses to the pandemic.
He is co–chair of the Privacy and Consumer Advisory Group (PCAG) to the Government Digital Service and GOV.UK. Edgar has been a participant in the DCMS expert groups helping shape the development of the Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework, and he is also a member of the DCMS college of experts providing external expertise and guidance to the work of DCMS more generally.
