Dzintars Gotham is a researcher, policy consultant, and medical doctor who works on access to medicines, biomedical R&D policy, and biomedical regulatory issues. He serves as a Consultant to the World Health Organization and Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).

His research work has analysed medicine pricing, the effects of trade and intellectual property on health, health innovation policy, regulatory affairs, the economics of clinical trials and pharmaceutical manufacture, and policy options for increasing access to biosimilars (a medical product that is almost an identical copy of an original product that is manufactured by a different company).
