Mahi Hardalupas (she/her, they/them) was a Researcher at the Ada Lovelace Institute, in the Emerging technology & industry practice research domain. Her research focused on the societal and ethical implications of emerging technologies, such as foundation models and immersive technologies, and what to do about these implications.
Prior to joining Ada, Mahi was a policy advisor at the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation, working on privacy-enhancing technologies, assisted living technologies and foundation models. They also have a PhD in History and Philosophy of Science from the University of Pittsburgh, where they investigated how machine learning models were used by neuroscientists and taught classes in bioethics and AI ethics.
