Michael is Associate Director (Law & policy) at the Ada Lovelace Institute. His role explores the legal, regulatory and other tools needed to govern AI and data effectively – particularly in the UK and EU.
Before joining Ada, Michael led the Centre for Data Ethics and Innovation’s regulatory workstream, advising on how to build responsible innovation approaches into the development of key government publications on AI governance, as well as authoring the CDEI AI Barometer. He previously looked at the role of charities in public service delivery at NCVO, and civil justice issues at the Law Society.
